John Heminges returns home to his house of the site of the Globe Theatre with a precious package - the first edition of William Shakespeare's Comedies, Histories and Tragedies - which he has just collected from the printer Isaac Jaggard.
Sitting down to study the result of his work, Heminges reminisces about his life and his long friendship with young Will, which had started 36 years before, in the White Swan in Stratford when William was 23 and John 31.

When you book and pay online you will be sent our new E-Ticket. Simply print this out and bring it with you on the evening of the show. If you don't have access to a printer then simply make a note of the unique ticket number (contained in your confirmation email and written under the barcode on the E-Ticket) and bring it with you to the theatre.
Much Ado About Nothing - October 2010
This drama is one of the great comedy plays by William Shakespeare. The play revolves around two pairs of lovers, Beatrice and Benedick and Claudio and Hero.
The main plot of the play revolves around obstacles to the union of the two young lovers - Claudio and Hero. The love-hate relationship of Beatrice and Benedick features the "merry war" of the sexes. Benedick thinks he hates Beatrice but really loves her and Beatrice who thinks she hates Benedick but really loves him...

Carney Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA)
Carney Academy of Performing Arts will be opening at the Lantern Theatre on September 11th 2010. Carney Academy is an exciting performing arts school in Sheffield for ages 7 years through to adult. Focusing on drama as a tool for building confidence and social skills as well as developing performance and professional theatre skills. The school offers group classes as well as one to one tuition for those who want it.
The Dilys Guite Players
The Lantern Theatre Sheffield's only small Victorian theatre is a beautiful and intimate setting. It is the home of the amateur theatre group The Dilys Guite Players, founded in 1957, with members from Sheffield and the surrounding area.
Members of the Dilys Guite Players are able to become involved in a variety of areas of a production from acting, set design, set building,
